The sad truth about plastic

This was absolutely devastating to read.

Just recently I stopped using straws and single use plastic bottles, unless it’s absolutely necessary to use. I also started to recycle and am more aware of how much water, plastic and electricity I use. Sounds a bit crazy but since reading The Uninhabitable Earth by David Wallace-Wells last month, I feel that I-we- have a responsibility, a responsibility to take care of our planet and change some of our habits.

Social responsibility is becoming an increasingly hot topic in business but we can’t rely on corporations to make the change alone. We, as individuals and small businesses should also promote and engage in environmental sustainability. Think of how much water bottles you use? Per Green Sheep Water, the U.S. discards 1,500 water bottles every second.

Every second.

That’s over 38 billion water bottles a year!

We need to start changing our habits, no matter how big or how small, as long as we start! It’s for our future!
